Artistic Exchange Residencies
Our Artistic Exchange Residencies have a focus on artistic creation and can include but are not limited to both studios as well as technical residencies, peer to peer communication, networking, showings, meeting cultural actors and diving into local scenes. The partners provide residency opportunities to the network with the aim to facilitate European and international exchange, networking and capacity building.
Mean Time Between Failures at STUK
Mean Time Between Failures, the Helsinki-based experimental dance and performance art collective of Dash Che and Suvi Tuominen. During their Artistic Exchange Residency at STUK, MTBF will work with sound designer Oula Rytkönen, who is a long-term collaborator of the collective. They will focus on dramaturgical and choreographic development of a new dance piece called DOWN BEAT.
Dan Mussett
Dan Mussett is in residence at 4Culture in Bucharest. He is working on a new performance called Fully Automated Luxury Dancing! in which he invites local freelance dancers to each show to re-enact situations from a freelance dancer's life: auditions, classes, rehearsals. In doing so, it attempts to expose and pick apart the micro-politics of the art world, and to question the power dynamics inside it.
James Batchelor teaches in Budapest
Australian but Berlin based James Batchelor gives a workshop for choreographers and dancers at Trafó House in Budapest. This workshop offers an introduction to James Batchelor’s teaching and choreographic practice, followed by an opportunity for developing knowledge about contemporary dance networks in Europe. Participation of the workshop is for free, registration is necessary!

James Batchelor and Bek Berger go to Workshop Foundation Budapest for an Artistic Exchange Residency. The two originally Australian, Berlin based and internationally working artists have been working together extensively (and successfully!) since 2017.
Lana Hosni in residence at Veem House
Lana Hosni is inviting you to open morning sessions during her residency at Veem House in Amsterdam! The sessions are a selection of the warm-ups and tune-ins she would normally do as an entrance to her daily practice, and they are focusing on body, somatics, movement-emotion-voice aligning and opening into availability.

ICI–CCN nominated choreographer and Performer Mariana Viana for an Artistic Exchange Residency at MDT Stockholm. She is working on her new piece Matière grise/Gray matter during these two weeks in Sweden.
OPEN CALL | Artistic Residency in Stockholm and Montpellier
MDT Moderna Dansteatern in Stockholm and ICI-CCN in Montpellier launch a joint open a call for two research residencies for artists based in Montpellier or Stockholm! This call is open to artists from the field of choreography and dance. Deadline for applications is 12 May 2024.

Uferstudios Berlin und Workshop Foundation Budapest are offering two differently designed exchange residencies for professional movement and dance artists who work in Hungary or who are based in Berlin! Application deadline is 14 April.
Open House with Lin Da in Helsinki
Finnish artist, choreographer and performer Lin Da was on an Artistic Exchange Residency at Uferstudios Berlin this summer. On 20 December they share their experience, research and insights regarding the residency, in the frame of an Open House shaped as a Soup Talk. Like the other Soup Talks of Moving in November Festival it will start midday, Laura Pietiläinen will be the host.
Gyula Cserepes on Artistic Exchange Residency at CoFestival
Workshop Foundation Budapest sends Gyula Cserepes to join CoFestival for an Artistic Exchange Residency. The programme of the international festival of contemporary dance in Ljubljana focuses on artists who have recently created outstanding, fresh, contemporary, but at the same time very diverse choreographic works in the cultural contexts of the area of the former Yugoslav federation and Austria.
Dominique Tegho at Moving in November
Dominique Tegho is selected by Moving in November Festival for an Artistic Exchange Research Residency. She works in the studio of choreographer Liisa Pentti + Co and experiences the whole festival in Helsinki.
Reza Mirabi is at MDT Stockholm
Reza Mirabi started his Artistic Residency at MDT Stockholm. He investigates the role of seeds during times of crisis. Inspiration for this research is a graffiti he saw around the corner of his grandmothers house and a former barren terrain in South India, which was transformed into a dreamy garden by two activists – only by using seeds.

Julija Pečnikar, Alja Branc and Sara Janašković were invited to an Artistic Exchange Residency to the Workshop Foundation in Budapest. They will keep developing the Performance Softwareness.
