OPEN CALL | by danceWEB PRÉAC in Montpellier with Volmir Cordeiro
danceWEB is looking for a dance/performance artist, dance writer, dance teacher interested in research participating in PRÉAC, organized and hosted by ICI–CCN in Montpellier:
The selected artist is invited to join a seminar of PRÉAC (Pôle de Ressources pour l'Éducation Artistique et Culturelle) to the topic: Narratives – can we make fiction without making stories? The place of narrative in choreography: the relationship between abstraction and narration, and fictional modalities in choreographic composition, in particular. The seminar is led by the guest artist Volmir Cordeiro and takes 5 days, from 24–28 March 2025. There will be the opportunity to extend the stay to develop one's own research work, but also to be involved in the other activities of the venue and the local context of dancers and professionals at the ICI-CCN from 17–21 March 2025.

Requirements: Only dance/performance artists, dance writers, dance teachers coming from and/or residing in Austria are eligible to apply. The programme is ideal for artists, dance writers and dance teachers interested in research. French language skills are an advantage.

About Volmir Cordeiro:
Volmir Cordeiro (born 1987) holds a doctorate in dance from Paris 8 University. He initially studied theatre before working with Brazilian choreographers Alejandro Ahmed, Cristina Moura and Lia Rodrigues. In 2011, he joined the “Essais” programme at the National Centre for Contemporary Dance (CDNC) in Angers, under the direction of Emmanuelle Huynh, where he obtained a masters in performance and choreography. In Europe he has performed in productions by Xavier Le Roy, Laurent Pichaud & Rémy Héritier, Emmanuelle Huynh, Jocelyn Cottencin, Vera Mantero, Zeena Parkings & Nadia Lauro and Latifa Laâbissi.
