Jasmin İhraç is a choreographer, dancer and sociologist. She lives and works in Berlin. Her works have been shown at Volksbühne/Roter Salon (Trois Voies), Palais de Tokyo (On Speeches), Gorki/Studio R (iz-le), Ballhaus Naunynstraße (Mj'a sin-Verflechtungen with Silvina Der Meguerditchian), HAU Hebbel am Ufer (On Confluence) and Ringlokschuppen Ruhr. Her solo dance project Sahman-Grenze-Kuş and the film Constant changes, silent witnesses, which she developed in the frame of the artist-in-residence grants from Kunststiftung NRW and Kulturakademie Tarabya in Istanbul, were presented in different contexts, festivals, galleries, museums and theatres (e.g On Marche Festival/Marrakesh, KET/Athens, Moovy Festival/Museum Ludwig Cologne, Festival Dansem/Marseille, Salt Beyoğlu/Istanbul). In 2021, her production liú (at HAU4) and the pieces Kleine große Sprünge (Tanzkomplizen) and Schichten schichten (with Tümay Kılınçel) premiered. In 2022/23, she attended various lectures in the frame of the study course Geophysics and Oceanography at the University of Hamburg. She worked a.o. with deufert&plischke, Alexandra Pirici, Isabelle Schad, Taldans, Irena Haiduk and andcompany&Co and formerly as a research assistant in the DFG-funded project Media and constitutive systems: Archiving performance-based art (HMT Leipzig/HZT Berlin). Since 2023 she has been a board member of ZTB e.V. In April 2024 she premiered her solo deep eye sea in Berlin and was selected by Uferstudios for the Creative Crossroads Artists programme of Life Long Burning with residencies at CCN Montpellier and MDT Stockholm for her current project.
