ICC organizes various contexts throughout the year as a regular collective practice within the cultural field of dance and choreography. These events aim to stimulate and explore the concepts of imagination and institutionalization.

Between 23. September and 4 October the ICC team has invited artists to Sofia who address diverse issues and topics related to queer identities, alternative dynamics of pornography, anal politics, the concept of holes as a seclusive system, and pleasure as politically relevant. Through collective practices of co-dreaming, co-thinking, and co-imagining, dance and choreography become active practices aimed at constructing softer and more accurate spaces for contemporary desires within our cultural landscapes.

The hidden, shamed, blamed, secretly desired, privatized, suppressed, hyper-controlled, de-legalized, unjust, uncomfortable, and unknown are the notions that construct our public space. These concepts are often censored, undesired, and underrepresented. This context will provide a poetic cultural and public space for collectively revisiting, co-thinking, and co-imagining alternative narratives for these notions, different from those dictated by the phallic, frontal, hetero-normative, religious, and reproductive systems of values within our cultural and artistic landscapes. We need other collective spaces that are soft, slimy, stinky, stimulative, sensual, seductive, seclusive, sensorial, and so on.

This project is organized by ICC through Garage Collective with funding from the Ministry of Culture of Bulgaria and the financial support of GPS/Global Practice Sharing Programme of Movemenr Research with funding from Trust for Mutual Understanding, as well as Acción Cultural Española (AC/E), Goetheinstitut Bulgarien and Toplo Centrala – Regional Centre for Contemporary Art.
