ChoreoCon 2024 Opening: Close Encounters of the Dance Kind – Performance Situation Room

What would you send into the future of dance? If there were something at your disposal right now that you would send into the future of dance, what would it be?

The team of Antisezona asked this question to the local dance scene of Zagreb and received answers from those at the beginning of their journeys, as well as from those who have been on this trek for a while. The responses presented in this film don’t encapsulate the entirety of the scene, but demonstrate its multiplicity, polyphony, strength, persistence and permanence. It is a message sent into a wormhole: it reminds us of struggles already won, of all that persists despite circumstances, of friendship and solidarity, of dissents and differences, of that which remains unknown and resists comprehension, but travels through time precisely because it is so.
